Xbox Madden 10 Action Could have Your Rivals Conquered and Cashed out

If learning about all the new stuff still hasn't made you excited about Xbox Madden 10, then maybe a visit to video gaming's not-so-distant past can put things into perspective. On one hand, it's probably not too cool to say Xbox Madden 10 is great, just because it stands out next to crap from 30 years ago. Then again, those side-by-side comparisons help underscore the fact that Xbox Madden 10 is a truly top-notch football video game. Certainly, there was a huge, untapped market for football video games, when the first generation of console games made their debut. Only problem was, the gamers' ideas on what a great football video game should be, versus the reality of the video game consoles' capabilities, made for a shaky compromise. Even then, the game companies were excellent at the hype, and kept boasting that this one boasted "all the excitement" of real football.

The players themselves have closer resemblance to space aliens than members of a football team. What are you gonna do? The brief glance at the pic gives you a taste, but believe me, what went on during an actual game was much more horrific. An early symptom of the low-tech nature of older video games was graphics that just blinked like crazy, rendering the action impossible to read. Sound effects didn't fare much better, with the "spectators" sounding more like a car with a busted muffler. Another disappointment - the screen didn't (or just couldn't) scroll. In a short matter of time, the competitors entered the video game console field, and brought out their take on a more realistic football video game. A serious effort was made with this next one, in order to give gamers a football video game closer to the real thing. However, it was still a bit primitive.

No doubt, it was a real exciting time for hardcore gamers, but there was still a ways to go before football video games would dominate the industry. Gamers would have to wait a while on the bench before that came true. But this one, which was released in the late 80s, as part of the next generation of game consoles, really hit it big, to the point where people still love it. Over the years, this was the yardstick by which all football video games were measured. Why this went supernova isn't hard to figure out - with actual offensive and defensive strategies, they brought in a new level of realism. With the improvements in both the sound and the graphics, gamers saw this as the first and last word in video football games. With the online revival, today's gamers are getting a taste of yesteryear - and loving it. That being said, as much as everyone digs that one, Xbox Madden 10 is in an entirely different league.

Hard to believe how much these games have improved since they first came on the scene. We've had a few chuckles, but mocking less advanced video games isn't a productive use of our time. You've gotten the point. They may have been flawed, but we needed those older games as a "springboard" to what we have today. Of course, Xbox Madden 10 has really kicked this one over the goal posts, which has the video game world pretty pleased. The reviewers have spoken, and they're as stoked as the gamers, which is always a cause for celebration. "Realistic and enjoyable" are comments you'll see during most Xbox Madden 10 reviews. EA Sports has really concocted a Super Bowl sized hit with Xbox Madden 10, as expected.

To hell with the people who bag on Xbox Madden 10 - it truly is the best football video game out there. Xbox Madden 10 isn't just a great Xbox sports video game - it's an all-around great Xbox video game. It's the favorite of hardcore gamers, and with good cause. More than just a great game, it's a chance to display your video game excellence, when you clash for cash. Now, Xbox Madden 10 fanatics can throw down the gauntlet and play video games for money. When you've conquered the Xbox Madden 10 playing field, you'll be conquering your rivals - and snagging their cash.
